How the platform works
Upstero is a performance affiliate marketplace. Affiliates are reviewed before activation, and individual offers can require separate per-offer approval so an advertiser knows exactly who is sending them traffic.
On internal offers Upstero operates the checkout as merchant of record, so attribution is established server-side before payment is taken and cannot be disputed after the fact. On network offers the advertiser sells through their own processor and we reconcile against the postback they return.
Commissions run through a signed ledger: every sale, reversal, reserve movement and payout is a separate immutable row, and an affiliate's balance is the sum of those rows rather than a figure recomputed at display time. A 10% reserve is held per order against refunds and released 30 days after the sale.
Traffic quality
Automated traffic is identified at click time, recorded, and excluded from the visitor counts that conversion rate and EPC are calculated from. Inbound conversion postbacks are authenticated per offer and additionally bounded: a required order reference makes replays idempotent, a per-click conversion cap and an order-value ceiling limit what a compromised credential could do, and every rejection is logged.
