A performance marketplace built around one idea: the party that owns the checkout should be the party that reports the sale.
Affiliate marketing runs on numbers one side of the deal produces and the other side has to believe. When the advertiser both takes the money and counts the sales, an affiliate has no way to check the figure they are paid against.
Upstero was built the other way around. On our own offers we are the merchant of record, so attribution happens before the charge. On network offers we reconcile against the processor rather than accepting a total on faith.
Every balance in the system is the sum of a signed ledger, and the database itself refuses rows that would corrupt it — a sale cannot be negative, a payout cannot be positive, and one order cannot be reversed twice.
Amounts are stored as whole cents. Nothing is a floating-point number, because floating-point money stops adding up.
Upstero is early. The tracking, ledger, approval and payout systems are built and tested; live payment rails are being connected. We would rather say that plainly than imply a scale we do not have.
We answer them directly.
